Last week the Reformer reported that hospitals serving Rutherglen and Cambuslang regularly fail to hit A&E targets.
Figures show NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde hospitals have failed to meet the 95 per cent target every week this year.
On average 89.1 per cent of patients going to A&E in Glasgow have been seen within four hours, compared with 91.4 per cent at NHS Lanarkshire hospitals.
Although Rutherglen and Cambuslang fall under NHS Lanarkshire, most people from the area use Glasgow hospitals.
So this week we have quizzed our four candidates on what they would do to tackle the issue.
We asked the question: “What needs to be done to improve the performance of the NHS and ensure patients in Rutherglen and Cambuslang get the care they deserve?”
