Sean is top Spi­der-man

Queen’s Park cap­tain Sean Burns claimed two awards at the player of the year awards af­ter lead­ing his side to an al­most cer­tain play-off po­si­tion.

The 24 year-old de­fender was amongst the win­ners at the award cer­e­mony that fol­lowed Queen’s 2-1 win over Clyde on Satur­day.

He picked up the com­mit­tee player of the year and goal of the sea­son awards for his stun­ning strike against Mon­trose.

Queen’s Park young sup­port­ers player of the year went to Vin­nie Berry, while Wil­lie Muir was cho­sen as the Sup­port­ers ’As­so­ci­a­tion player of the year (The Ivy Rid­dell Award).

The Travel Club player of the year (The Martin Kelly Award) went to Ryan McGeever.

Joseph Myles was the nine and over Young Spi­ders penalty kick win­ner and Liam McGee was the eight and un­der Young Spi­ders penalty kick win­ner.

Bob Find­lay also re­ceived a spe­cial award as he re­tires af­ter 27 years as club physio. Clyde’s player of the year was Chris Smith and goal of the sea­son went to JP McGovern.
