Leah’s one woman show is finally here
chicken sandwich, it’s the technical term for that’s us finished work - in other words: series 16 has been completed!
The cast and crew of River City are now on summer holidays until August.
We shoot a lot of material at River City because we work on a three month on, three off basis.
So we always welcome our summer break, even though we don’t earn any pennies during it.
It gives us a chance to spend quality time with our friends and families, and we always have a fantastic ‘wrap’ party.
This year’s was at the Alea Casino and was great fun.
I especially love seeing all of our crew looking glammed up and very dapper as they’re often wearing waterproofs and hats and gloves when we’re filming outside, so sometimes you can hardly even see their faces.
We have such a great team there, so happy holidays team River City, see you all soon! Behave yourself in Chapel
I’m not a religious person, but I couldn’t have been any more proud of my gorgeous wee niece Sophie as she made her first holy communion this month.
It was really important to her and so it was important to me.
Her mum and dad (my friends Alison and Manus) were proud as punch and it warmed my heart to be with them on such a special day.
Sophie is eight years old now but at times she can sound more like an eighty year old.
She is one of my closest wee buddies and I swear her chat’s much better than many adults I know.
Even though she is getting more grown up, she still comes running to me shouting ‘Auntie Leah’ every time I visit her and I dread the day she becomes too ‘cool’ to do that.
I am so proud of you Sophie Sweeney and huge congratulations for reading your prayer without looking at the words once.
I almost whooped in applause in the Chapel, but I’m told this is a bit of a no no... Quote of the fortnight:
