Resurfacing work shuts roads
Motorists through Rutherglen are facing two weeks of queues and delays with vital routes being closed for resurfacing.
the eastbound lane of Cambuslang Road will shut to traffic between Hamilton Road and Bogleshole Road at midnight on Monday, June 27.
It will re-open at midnight on sunday, July 3.
the alternative route will be via B768 Main street, a749 stonelaw Road and B762 Dukes Road, Rutherglen.
Farmeloan Road will then be closed in both directions between Cambuslang Road and Rutherglen Main street from midnight on Monday, July 4, until midnight on sunday, July 10.

the work is part of south Lanarkshire Council’s ongoing roads improvement plan.
Chair of south Lanarkshire Council’s enterprise services committee, Councillor Chris thompson, said:“these works are essential to improve the road surfaces at these locations.
“unfortunately, it cannot be done without some disruption to road users and we apologise for that.”
and Councillor thompson concluded: “We would advise people to avoid the area if at all possible, or if not to try and ensure they allow themselves extra time for their journey.”
