A day to celebrate the hard work of hundreds of carers across Rutherglen and Cambuslang has been organised for June 11.

Dubbed Step Out Saturday, the event has been organised by Lanarkshire Carers Centre to mark Carers Week 2016.

It includes a range of familyfriendly activities including a raffle, tombola, fancy dress photo booth, face painting and fire engines, as well as cultural dance and music and pampering for adults.

Running from 11am to 3pm at the Alona Hotel, Strathclyde Country Park, the event is open to carers throughout Lanarkshire, their family and friends.

People interested in attending the event, or others activities organised as part of Carer’s Week 2016 should call Lanarkshire Carers Centre on 01698 428090 for further information and to book a place.
