Golf day success at Cathkin Braes
Cathkin Braes Golf Club played host to a golf day that raised more than £20,000 for local a charity.
The Andy Cameron Classic event helped raise the money for Kilbryde Hospice on Friday, May 20.
Ninety-six golfers attended and had a fantastic day in the nice weather.
They played 18 holes of golf followed by a two course lunch, prize giving, auction and raffle hosted by Andy Cameron.
This year a team from City Holdings Ltd claimed the trophy.
Chloe Martin, community and events fundraiser at Kilbryde Hospice, said:“We would like to express our thanks to everyone who made our golf day a massive success. Special thanks to Andy Cameron for being such a fantastic host, and of course to our sponsors Prospect Healthcare.
“Thanks to all involved we managed to raise an amazing £20,750 of much needed funds for Kilbryde Hospice.”
The hospice are set to have an exciting few months as they work towards opening their 12 bed inpatient facility after recently receiving their Health Improvement Scotland accreditation certificate.
Once fully operational the hospice will be providing specialist palliative care and support to those in Lanarkshire affected by a life limiting illness.
