Fernhill Road to close for fortnight
Motorists heading through Fernhill are being warned of a road closure in the coming weeks.
South Lanarkshire Council have confirmed a section of Fernhill Road will be shut from June 27 until July 17.
The closure, between the junctions with Neilvaig Drive and Galloway Drive, is related to the ongoing building of new houses in the scheme.
Drivers are being urged to use Burnside Road, Blairbeth Road and Mill Street as a diversion.
A temporary waiting and loading restriction will also be in place on the north side of Galloway Drive between the same dates.
A spokesperson for South Lanarkshire Council said: “The closure is needed for the installation of utilities to the site and the waiting and loading restrictions are needed to help buses negotiate their alternative route.”
Temporary traffic lights are already in operation at the junction of Burnside Road and Cathkin bypass while work continues on the Cathkin Relief Road.
