The trial against a 44-year-old woman charged with ut­ter­ing racial abuse has been de­ferred.

Ailsa Sproull, of Car­rick Road, Ruther­glen, is al­leged to have acted in a racially ag­gra­vated man­ner which caused or was in­tended to cause alarm and dis­tress.

She is ac­cused of shout­ing, swear­ing and ut­ter­ing racial abuse to­wards a man at Kyle Court on De­cem­ber 27, 2015.

At a hear­ing at Glas­gow Sher­iff Court on June 8, the case against Sproull was ad­journed to al­low the defence to make fur­ther in­ves­ti­ga­tions.

Her trial will take place on De­cem­ber 7.
