Police hunt four after Fernhill attack
A man needed hospital treatment after being attacked in Fernhill in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The 45-year-old was taken to the Queen Elizabeth II University Hospital after the incident, which took place near his Castlefern Road home.
He was later released from hospital.
Police are now hunting a gang of four males who carried out the attack sometime between 1am and 2am on Sunday, June 19.
It is not clear if a weapon was used.
A spokesperson for Rutherglen Police said: “Between 1am and 2am on Sunday, June 19, 2016 a 45- year- old male was walking from his home address on Castlefern Road, Rutherglen near to the junction with Colvend Drive when he was assaulted by four unknown males.
“The males are described as white Scottish, aged between 30- 40 years, wearing dark clothing.
“We would appeal to anyone who observed the incident or has any details in relation to this to contact us on 101.”
