Pupils’lessons in keep­ing fit

Pupils at Calder­wood Pri­mary were jump­ing with joy when a spe­cial guest paid a visit to the school.

Jump Start Jonny dropped into the school as he con­tin­ues his mis­sion to get kids fit.

The fit­ness su­per­star has al­ready vis­ited 16 coun­tries and helped teach thou­sands of chil­dren the im­por­tance of ex­er­cise.

His aim is to bat­tle child­hood obe­sity and in­spire fu­ture gen­er­a­tions to stay ac­tive.

Ev­ery class had a slot with Jonny do­ing a va­ri­ety of pop and funky fit­ness ses­sions. He even went into the play­ground at lunchtime with the chil­dren and stayed behind af­ter school to sign au­to­graphs.

Head teacher Lisa Quinn said: “The chil­dren ab­so­lutely loved him and so did the teach­ers.

“Every­one had a won­der­ful time.”
