Workshops will ensure best start to school
Special workshops to help parents ensure their children get the best possible start to school life are being held in Rutherglen and Cambuslang.
For all children entering P1 in August, the school transition workshops are designed to help youngsters make the step up to primary school.
They are run by local education staff, Project 31 and South Lanarkshire Council’s culture and leisure department and include storytelling, arts and crafts and outdoor activities.
Each child will be given a Starting School Pack, whilst parents will be encouraged to take an active role in their child’s schooling.
Morning and afternoon workshops will be held at Burgh Primary School, Rutherglen, on July 12 and at James Aiton Primary, Cambuslang, on July 21.
