Top Scottish comic comes to Rutherglen

Rutherglen Reformer - - News -

A top Scottish comedian is bringing his controversial act to Rutherglen later this year.

JD Brown will perform one of show ‘Lines of Pure Council’ at Harley’s Sky Bar on September 9.

Since bursting onto the scene a few years ago, JD has found himself embroiled in feuds with fellow performers.

But he has also racked up rave reviews and is raring to go after taking a break from the comedy circuit.

The show will focus on his early life growing up on a council estate as well as his experience with recreational drugs.

Describing the show, he said: “It’s purely one off. I have nothing to prove to anyone other than myself so I decided to put a single show on with all new material and then move on.

“My comedy is real and it comes from the bleak reality of a scheme upbringing. And I find that in the darkest times the funniest things can happen or be exposed.”

Tickets for the show, which will include two special guests, cost £10 and can be purchased from www.unicouncil-tickets-6BR915.

The show starts at 8pm.
