Spite their faces’
country it is because you have a good country. You should be proud.”
Another Ruglonian who works abroad is David Murray, 33.
The former Burnside Primary and Stonelaw pupil is now a research scientist.
He is based in Norwich but his work takes him across the continent and he was in Austria when he heard the result, which he described as “embarrassing.”
David admits he is concerned about the future of funding for UK scientists:“There could be less money available plus our ability to hire top class European scientists and attract EU students to our universities could be affected.
“It could be a disaster for research in the UK. I’ve heard more than one EU scientist tell me that without UK scientists it could be easier for them to get grants.”
