Where the cash has been going over the years
A total of £3.2million has been generated in community gain funding in Cambuslang between 2002 and 2015.
Handed over by developers building houses in the town, the cash has been used to upgrade Westburn Hall and Peter Brownlie Park.
Almost £100,000 was spent on improvements to play areas in West Whitlawburn between 2007 and 2009 and traffic management works in the area saw £253,000 in investment.
Across the town, £325,000 has been generated for affordable housing to be built in the next five years, with some of the cash already used to deliver affordable homes in Fernhill in 2016/17.
In 2015 alone, £530,000 was generated in Cambuslang in community gain cash outwith the Newton Growth Area. South Lanarkshire Council say that cash will be spent on education, affordable housing and community facilities.
