Free tyre checks
Vehicle owners in Rutherglen and Cambuslang will be offered a free tyre safety check to keep them safe on the roads.
Arnold Clark will offer a free tyre safety clinic at Tesco Extra in Rutherglen on Thursday and Friday, June 30 and July 1.
As part of a tour the company will be hosting a series of clinics to promote tyre safety and educate drivers about the importance of tyre maintenance.
Experienced Arnold Clark staff will carry out free tyre checks, give away free tyre safety kits ( containing a pressure gauge and a treaddepth gauge) and offer useful tyre advice.
Paul Bryceland, service manager at Rutherglen Ford/ Fiat/ Abarth, said: “Many people don’t realise how easy it is to keep on top of their tyres so we use these tyre clinics to educate and to explain how to check things like tread depth and tyre pressure. Knowing how to carry out these simple checks means you can continually monitor your tyres and stay safe on the road.”
Regular tyre pressure checks have been linked with reduced numbers of serious injuries in car crashes.
Over the past five years there has been an annual average of 198 deaths and 1,135 serious injuries on UK roads as a result of tyrerelated incidents.
