Racist abuse charge de­nied

The pas­sen­ger of a taxi ac­cused of racially abus­ing the driver will stand trial on July 22.

Alexan­der Hay is charged with be­hav­ing in racially ag­gra­vated man­ner by shout­ing, swear­ing, mak­ing threat­en­ing ges­tures and ut­ter­ing racist re­marks on Jan­uary 31, 2016.

Hay, 49, of Staffa Road, Cam­bus­lang, is al­leged to have com­mit­ted the of­fence while in a car en route to Cath­cart Po­lice Sta­tion.

He de­nied all charges against him when he ap­peared at Glas­gow Sher­iff Court on June 22.
