Fernhill School pupils were generally delighted when they received their exam results.

In the benchmark Higher exams S5 pupils achieved excellent results with an overall pass rate of 94.1 per cent; 82.4 per cent of passes were with A/B grades and 65 per cent of Higher passes at A grade.

S4 pupils also achieved excellent results at National 5 with a 100 per cent attainment rate for the second year running.

S6 pupils excelled equally, with a 100 per cent pass rate at Advanced Higher, with 78 per cent of these results at A grade.

Dr Laura Murphy, head teacher at Fernhill School, said: “It is testament to our successful S6 programme that the vast majority of our pupils have secured places in their first choice University courses.

“We wish our S6 leavers every success for their future studies.

“All of this success is a reflection of the tremendous hard work done over the last year. The commitment shown by our wonderful pupils has been matched by the unstinting dedication of our staff, and the incredible ongoing support of our parent body.
