R8 Spyder price tag

Audi’s latest R8 Spyder supercar is now up for grabs - at a hefty £129,990.

The new addition to the second generation R8 line-up has a fabric hood that can open in 20 seconds so occupants can enjoy the car’s throaty V10 soundtrack.

Performance figures see the 540PS Spyder capable of blasting from 0-62 in 3.6 seconds and on to a top speed of 197mph, while fuel economy is an average 24.1mpg.

Audi says the car’s ground-up rework brings it very much up to date not only by adding more power, but also new features like the fully digital Audi Virtual Cockpit, the Audi smartphone interface and internet-based Audi Connect services.
