Castlemilk Dy­namo got their sea­son off and run­ning with a 4-2 win over Calder­side in the Sun­day Cen­tral AFL.

Spring­hall Spar­tans bounced back from last week’s 6-0 de­feat with a 3-0 win away to Cran­hill United.

Di­vi­sion 1 saw Castlemilk United win 2-0 at home to Eas­tend Tower but Ruther­glen Rovers’ poor start con­tin­ued with a 9-2 ham­mer­ing from Al­bion.

Thirty-two teams were placed in eight groups to es­tab­lish who would be play­ing in the rest of the di­vi­sions this sea­son.

All teams will play each of their three op­po­nents home and away and who­ever fin­ishes first will play in League 2A, sec­ond in 2B, third in 2C and fourth in 2D.

This week’s re­sults were: (group 3) Cam­bus­lang Foot­ball Academy 2 - 4 Red Staars Baa­grade. (Group 5) Ben­gal Lancers AFC 2 - 2 Shaw­field Wed­nes­day and (Group 6) Croft­foot Am­a­teurs 0 - 1 Broad­wood Clyde.

Fix­tures for Sun­day, Au­gust 20, Premier: Fern­hill United v Over­lee Par­ti­zans, Haghill AFC v Spring­hall Spar­tans.

Di­vi­sion 1: Ruther­glen Rovers v Castlemilk United.
