Four pairs of twins were welcomed into a brand new building as West Coats Primary opened their doors for a new term. Alistair and Dillon Browne, Carmen and Calise MacLean, Jessica and Orlah Burns and Euan and Joshua Holroyd were part of the three primary one classes who enjoyed their first day on August 18.

The pupils are settling into their newly refurbished classrooms and gym hall.

Sheila Lynch, who has been head teacher at West Coats Primary for five years, said: “Staff and children are absolutely delighted at our newly modernised school.

“The children think it is awesome and are thrilled to be back.

“A massive thanks to all the staff and contractors for getting us back into school ahead of schedule.

“A piper welcomed all children into school on the first morning.”
