Helping out Angela

Rutherglen Reformer - - Memory Lane -

Cambuslang locals banded together for a good cause back in August 1986.

A young Cambuslang girl, Angela Burns, had been taken to hospital in London after a mystery illness attacked her liver.

Her parents were keeping a bedside vigil for her, and kind-hearted residents helped donate cash to keep the family in London.

Pictured is the Cross Tavern’s charity night for the cause.
