Rutherglen Reformer - - News -

The trial date has been set for a Rutherglen man accused of crashing his car while drink driving.

Stephen Greene, 27, is accused of mounting a grass verge and crashing his car into a lamppost at Glenlyon Place after consuming too much alcohol on December 12.

It is alleged he consumed so much alcohol that the proportion of it in his breath exceeded the prescribed limit, 22 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

He is also charged with driving the vehicle without due care and attention or without reasonable consideration for other persons.

Greene pleaded not guilty to both offences when he appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court last week and will stand trial on October 24.
