Hamilton District Youth Theatre are back this year with their latest production of Legally Blonde the Musical.

After the success of Bugsy Malone, performed by the junior cast members in April, the senior cast members will be performing Legally Blonde the Musical at Hamilton Town House on Friday, October 7 and Saturday, October 8. Based on the novel and 2001 hit movie, Legally Blonde tells the story of sorority girl and homecoming queen Elle Woods – a fashion merchandising student madly in love with her college sweetheart, Warner. When Warner dumps Elle for someone more “serious”, Elle puts down the credit card, hits the books and sets out where no Delta Nu has gone before – Harvard Law.

But along the way, Elle begins to realise that maybe she doesn’t need Warner after all, and proves that being true to yourself never goes out of style.

HDYT’s very own Elle Woods, Anna Lynas, had this to say about the show: “I’m so excited to be a part of this amazing production – rehearsals are going great and we’re like one big, fabulous family!

“It’s such a fun show and all the cast and crew have been working so hard to make it a success.”

This all-singing, all-dancing, feelgood musical comedy is sure to be the most fashionable ticket in town, so get yours while you can.

Tickets are available to purchase at the Town House box office and online, with prices so good they should be illegal – only £10 for adults and £9 for concessions.

A discount is also available for groups.

Earlier this year the theatre group’s junior cast received great reviews after putting on a fabulous production of Bugsy Malone.

The 40-strong cast performed excellently, each doing their respective roles justice.

The leads were played by Nairn Archer as Bugsy Malone, Grace Robertson as Blousy, Jacob Duffy as Fat Sam and Jaya Diarra as Tallulah.

The cast meet and rehearse on a Thursday evening in Hamilton Grammar School and usually hold open auditions each year for those interested in joining the club and taking part in some fantastic and entertaining productions

throughout the year.
