Cathkin pupils enjoy sport fest

Rutherglen Reformer - - Sport -

Cathkin High welcomed local primary seven pupils to experience a taste of high school in the form of a mini sports festival.

The annual event saw students take part in various activities including badminton, basketball, fitness and volleyball last month.

They also had the opportunity to work with pupils from different primary schools, all of whom will be heading to Cathkin High at the end of the school year.

Pupils spent the morning of each day trying new activities and being assisted by the PE department.

They were then invited back to the school along with their parents for an information evening and were given the opportunity to ask various members of staff about different subjects.

Parents were given a tour of the school by some of the senior pupils in Cathkin.

Mrs Blair, a depute at Cathkin High, was thrilled with how smoothly the two days and the parents evening went.

She said:“These days are invaluable, not only to get a feel for the school itself but also to meet new people and to see the teachers before the big change up to high school.

“I’d like to thank the teachers and staff members who made the P7 visits so unique.”
