Trial date is set

A Ruther­glen woman charged with en­ter­ing a prop­erty un­in­vited and threat­en­ing and as­sault­ing a neigh­bour will stand trial later this month.

Matilda McGinley, 45, of Kirkriggs Av­enue. is al­leged to have as­saulted the fe­male at her home on De­cem­ber 10, 2015.

McGinley is al­leged to have be­haved in a threat­en­ing or abu­sive man­ner by en­ter­ing and bran­dish­ing a knife in an in­tim­i­dat­ing way.

She was also ac­cused of as­sault­ing a woman and stand­ing over her with a knife while she was on the ground.

The ac­cused is then said to have re­peat­edly banged on the front door caus­ing dam­age to it.

In a fur­ther in­ci­dent, McGinley was charged with acting in an ag­gres­sive man­ner by shout­ing and swear­ing at po­lice of­fi­cers and re­sist­ing and ob­struct­ing them.

At Cath­cart Po­lice of­fice, she is al­leged to have re­sisted, ob­structed or hin­dered two po­lice of­fi­cers in the ex­e­cu­tion of their duty by strug­gling vi­o­lently, lash­ing out with her body weight, de­lib­er­ately tens­ing her arms and fail­ing to sup­port her body weight.

McGinley pled not guilty to the charges when she ap­peared at Glas­gow Sher­iff Court and trial was set for Oc­to­ber 28.
