On Saturday, October 29, the group will hold a bulb planting event alongside Rutherglen Rotary Club.

Volunteers are wanted to help out. Anyone who is interested should go to the Greystone Avenue roundabout before 9.30am with suitable equipment such as a spade or wellies.

The planting is expected to last until 12.30pm.

The group will also host a gala day on May 20, 2017, and they are already looking for stallholders to get in touch.

Potential stall holders can contact them through their Facebook page or by emailing Malcolm Piggot at malcolm. piggot@ntlworld.com.

Burnside in Bloom was launched as an offshoot of Burnside Community Council in 2011.

They were recent l y graded ‘outstanding’ by environmental charity Keep Scotland Beautiful.
