Burn­side event de­tails re­vealed

Com­mu­nity group Burn­side in Bloom have an­nounced de­tails of two ma­jor events.

And they are look­ing for res­i­dents to play their part as well.

On Satur­day, Oc­to­ber 29, the group will hold a bulb plant­ing event along­side Ruther­glen Ro­tary Club.

Vol­un­teers are wanted to help out. Any­one who is in­ter­ested should go to the Grey­stone Av­enue round­about be­fore 9.30am with suit­able equip­ment such as a spade or wellies.

The plant­ing is ex­pected to last un­til 12.30pm.

The group will also host a gala day on May 20, 2017, and they are al­ready look­ing for stall­hold­ers to get in touch.

Burn­side in Bloom was launched as an off­shoot of Burn­side Com­mu­nity Coun­cil in 2011.

They were re­cent l y graded ‘out­stand­ing’ by en­vi­ron­men­tal char­ity Keep Scot­land Beau­ti­ful.
