Cam­bus­lang Parish Church’s com­mu­nity cafe will be open on Wed­nes­days from 10am-noon.

They will be hold­ing some en­ter­tain­ment shortly, too.

Fresh from his ap­pear­ances at the Bri­tan­nia Panop­ti­con Mu­sic Hall dur­ing the sum­mer in Mu­sic Hall Mem­o­ries, Gra­ham Macgre­gor will pro­vide laugh­ter as he per­forms his well-loved ush­erette sketch.

If you missed the Bri­tan­nia Panop­ti­con per­for­mances, then come along to Cam­bus­lang Church’s Com­mu­nity Cafe and en­joy a cup of tea, a joke and a laugh!

The en­ter­tain­ment sketch will be at 11am.

As Hal­lowe’en is also fast ap­proach­ing, the church will also en­ter into the spirit of the oc­ca­sion with some of the church’s helpers wear­ing tra­di­tional guis­ing at­tire.

This oc­ca­sion will take place on Wed­nes­day Oc­to­ber 19 from 10am un­til noon and all are wel­come to at­tend.

King’s Park Parish Church have a range of ac­tiv­i­ties on of­fer over the next week. These in­clude: Zumba class, cater­pil­lar mu­sic, mother and tod­dlers group, mixed bad­minton, messy church, com­mu­nity cafe, God Tok, pathfind­ers, car­pet bowls and youth club. To­ry­glen Parish Church will be hav­ing a craft fayre and af­ter­noon tea this Satur­day, Oc­to­ber 15. The event will last from 2pm un­til 4pm. More in­for­ma­tion on up­com­ing events can be found at www. face­­ry­glen­parish. church.

Castlemilk Parish Church will hold com­mu­nity meals on the first and third Fri­days of the month. Soup, pizza and pavlova will be avail­able on Fri­days from 6-8pm along with some live mu­sic.

St Colum­bkille’s Church are to hold a jum­ble sale on Satur­day, Novem­ber 5, in the church hall in aid of the build­ing fund. There will be arts and crafts, bric-a-brac, clothes and home bak­ing. En­try is free and the cafe will be open.

St Colum­bkille’s will also hold a mis­sion week be­gin­ning on Satur­day Novem­ber 26. The church’s craft group meet in the hall from 11am un­til 1pm to do knit­ting, cro­chet and sewing. The charis­matic prayer group con­tin­ues to meet every Wed­nes­day between 7-8.30pm.

St Oswald’s Church are con­tin­u­ing to push ahead with their plans for a men’s shed. The hope is the shed can be­come a space for men in the com­mu­nity to meet and use. Email ozzy­mensshed@gmail. com for more in­for­ma­tion.

Stonelaw Church’s Cafe@The Meet­ing Place is open Mon­day to Satur­day from 10.30am-2.30pm. Tea and cof­fee are avail­able, along with home bak­ing and a sec­ond-hand book stall. Stonelaw Church have also started hold­ing 30-minute ser­vices in the Meet­ing Place on the first Wed­nes­day of every month. There will be tea and chat af­ter­wards.

Flem­ing­ton Hall­side Church holds a com­mu­nity cafe each Thurs­day from noon un­til 2pm.

Ruther­glen Old Parish Church is open from noon un­til 2pm each Thurs­day, when any­one is wel­come to visit and find out about the church’s 1400-year his­tory. In­for­ma­tion about its var­i­ous or­gan­i­sa­tions is avail­able on the web­site at www.ruther­glenold. com.

The Sal­va­tion Army in Ruther­glen have sev­eral groups run­ning dur­ing the week. On Tues­days the Sun­shine Tod­dlers Group takes place between 9.45-11.45am and Je­sus and Me runs between 5-6.30pm. The kids club is open to all chil­dren of pri­mary school age and runs on a Wed­nes­day from 5-6.30pm.

Ruther­glen West and Ward­lawhill Church’s gar­den team meet every Satur­day morn­ing from 9.30am un­til noon. Any­one who wants to take part is wel­come to go along and help out. Their weekly friend­ship cafe runs every Tues­day from 10am-noon.

Burn­side Blair­beth Church are con­tin­u­ing to run a ser­vice on the first Satur­day of every month in the Rodger Me­mo­rial build­ing in Kirkriggs Av­enue. Messy Church is aimed at fam­i­lies. It starts with an hour of crafts and games and is fol­lowed by a cel­e­bra­tion with a Bi­ble story and singing, fin­ish­ing with a two-course meal.
