Cambuslang Parish Church’s community cafe will be open on Wednesdays from 10am-noon.
They will be holding some entertainment shortly, too.
Fresh from his appearances at the Britannia Panopticon Music Hall during the summer in Music Hall Memories, Graham Macgregor will provide laughter as he performs his well-loved usherette sketch.
If you missed the Britannia Panopticon performances, then come along to Cambuslang Church’s Community Cafe and enjoy a cup of tea, a joke and a laugh!
The entertainment sketch will be at 11am.
As Hallowe’en is also fast approaching, the church will also enter into the spirit of the occasion with some of the church’s helpers wearing traditional guising attire.
This occasion will take place on Wednesday October 19 from 10am until noon and all are welcome to attend.
King’s Park Parish Church have a range of activities on offer over the next week. These include: Zumba class, caterpillar music, mother and toddlers group, mixed badminton, messy church, community cafe, God Tok, pathfinders, carpet bowls and youth club. Toryglen Parish Church will be having a craft fayre and afternoon tea this Saturday, October 15. The event will last from 2pm until 4pm. More information on upcoming events can be found at www. facebook.com/toryglenparish. church.
Castlemilk Parish Church will hold community meals on the first and third Fridays of the month. Soup, pizza and pavlova will be available on Fridays from 6-8pm along with some live music.
St Columbkille’s Church are to hold a jumble sale on Saturday, November 5, in the church hall in aid of the building fund. There will be arts and crafts, bric-a-brac, clothes and home baking. Entry is free and the cafe will be open.
St Columbkille’s will also hold a mission week beginning on Saturday November 26. The church’s craft group meet in the hall from 11am until 1pm to do knitting, crochet and sewing. The charismatic prayer group continues to meet every Wednesday between 7-8.30pm.
St Oswald’s Church are continuing to push ahead with their plans for a men’s shed. The hope is the shed can become a space for men in the community to meet and use. Email ozzymensshed@gmail. com for more information.
Stonelaw Church’s Cafe@The Meeting Place is open Monday to Saturday from 10.30am-2.30pm. Tea and coffee are available, along with home baking and a second-hand book stall. Stonelaw Church have also started holding 30-minute services in the Meeting Place on the first Wednesday of every month. There will be tea and chat afterwards.
Flemington Hallside Church holds a community cafe each Thursday from noon until 2pm.
Rutherglen Old Parish Church is open from noon until 2pm each Thursday, when anyone is welcome to visit and find out about the church’s 1400-year history. Information about its various organisations is available on the website at www.rutherglenold. com.
The Salvation Army in Rutherglen have several groups running during the week. On Tuesdays the Sunshine Toddlers Group takes place between 9.45-11.45am and Jesus and Me runs between 5-6.30pm. The kids club is open to all children of primary school age and runs on a Wednesday from 5-6.30pm.
Rutherglen West and Wardlawhill Church’s garden team meet every Saturday morning from 9.30am until noon. Anyone who wants to take part is welcome to go along and help out. Their weekly friendship cafe runs every Tuesday from 10am-noon.
Burnside Blairbeth Church are continuing to run a service on the first Saturday of every month in the Rodger Memorial building in Kirkriggs Avenue. Messy Church is aimed at families. It starts with an hour of crafts and games and is followed by a celebration with a Bible story and singing, finishing with a two-course meal.
