Bates Motel Season 4 (15)

Rutherglen Reformer - - Reviews -

Freddie Highmore’s Norman Bates gets ever closer to his shower-stabbing ways in the penultimate season of the Psycho TV prequel.

He and Vera Farmiga are still the show’s shining lights as the twisted mother and son.

Nestor Carbonell’s Sheriff Romero is given a more meaty role as Max Thieriot and Olivia Cooke’s lovebirds take more of a back seat.

Some of the plot strands feel a little forced and unrealistic and Norman and Norma are kept apart too long.

But the season really gathers steam towards the end, culminating in a moment that shocks despite the fact you know it’s coming.

It’s all set up very nicely for the final series, with Rihanna joining the fray.
