Cambus lose their unbeaten run record
Cambuslang Rugby Club conceded a late penalty which ended their 100 per cent record for the season.
The Coats Park men had gone six games without a defeat until Saturday where Stewartry narrowly edged them out with a 32-30 victory.
Two tries from Louis Senter and scores from Alec Bean, David Bolton, Chris Bolton and Greg Morrison were not enough for The Cambus.
Coach Jamie Seery revealed the players were disappointed with the result.
He said: “Stewartry is a hard place to come to and win however, that’s exactly what we should have done but we weren’t sharp enough in areas. A lot of things outwith our control happened during the game but we need to focus on performance. The boys are gutted however, we will move on to next week’s match against Millbrae and focus on those areas in training.”
The Cambus remain five points clear of Stewartry at the top of the BT West Division 2 as they head into Saturday’s match.
Millbrae have won three of their seven games this season but were on the end of a 36-0 thrashing from Waysiders Drumpellie last weekend.
