Scott in at death to bag Euro Tour Card
Cathkin Braes golfer Scott Jamieson held on to his European Tour Card after a nerve-racking four days in Portugal.
The Scot finished 108th in the Race to Dubai after the last regular event of the season in the Algarve.
He held on to his playing rights by just over £7,000 after ending with a score of 70 for a share of 50th place at 10 under.
It was the second year in a row the Scot had left it late to secure his card, having ended up 106th on the money-list 12 months ago.
He can now look forward to a seventh successive season on the circuit but is determined not to be in the same position again in a year’s time.
The 32 year-old said: “It was a bit of a struggle the first half of the season, but since the Czech Masters [in August], I’ve started to play a lot better.
“It’s nice to sneak over the line just at the end, but it’s not where I want to be.
“At the end of the year I want to be more at the top end of things and not having to have sleepless nights. There’s going to be a lot of guys that just miss out – some of them good friends.
“I feel for them.”
