A po­lice of­fi­cer was scarred for life and an­other left with a bro­ken hand af­ter a week­end of vi­o­lence in Cam­bus­lang. Six peo­ple were ar­rested in two sep­a­rate in­ci­dents which left the of­fi­cers in­jured.

A Cam­bus­lang man was con­victed of down­load­ing al­most 15,000 in­de­cent im­ages of chil­dren. Vile Richard Wil­liam Sil­ver Smith was caught af­ter his brave wife, June, dis­cov­ered the pic­tures.

The owner of Har­ley’s Sky Bar in Ruther­glen slammed the de­ci­sion to hold a Rangers/ Celtic game on Hog­manay. Alex McDowall would even­tu­ally take the de­ci­sion to close his bar on the day.

A sum­mer of ac­tiv­i­ties at Over­toun Park con­tin­ued with the hugely suc­cess­ful Bark in the Park event. Cam­bus­lang would hold theirs in Oc­to­ber.
