A Ruther­glen woman turned up for a job that didn’t ex­ist af­ter she was the vic­tim of a cruel con.

Lynne Reeves thought she had fi­nally found work as a cus­tomer ser­vices as­sis­tant af­ter a three-month search last month.

Af­ter com­plet­ing a gru­elling phone in­ter­view with a com­pany call­ing them­selves Daily Mo­tion Ad­ver­tis­ing, she paid £100 for a dis­clo­sure cheque by an­other group called Elite Back­ground Checks.

But when she ar­rived for work, no-one in the build­ing had heard of the com­pany
