Debt clinic can help with cash woes

A debt clinic will be held in Ruther­glen help­ing peo­ple deal with the fi­nan­cial hang­over from Christ­mas.

La­nark­shire Credit Union, along with the Cit­i­zens Ad­vice Bureau, will be host­ing the money man­age­ment event in MSP Clare Haugh­eys’ con­stituency of­fice at 85 Main Street.

It is es­ti­mated the av­er­age cost of Christ­mas across the UK in 2016 was close to £800.

Many peo­ple suf­fer fi­nan­cial stress in the af­ter­math and Ms Haughey said: “The fes­tive pe­riod can cause fi­nan­cial prob­lems for fam­i­lies, and the La­nark­shire Credit Union is a fan­tas­tic or­gan­i­sa­tion that can help peo­ple get their fi­nances back on track.

“I’m also de­lighted that the Cit­i­zens Ad­vice Bureau will be avail­able to of­fer help and ad­vice. ” The La­nark­shire Credit Union will be on hand to help you save for 2017, pro­vide ad­vice and an­swer any ques­tions about your debt wor­ries.

The event will take place on Satur­day, Jan­uary 21 be­tween 11am-3pm.
