Rutherglen Reformer - - News -

Community groups, clubs and schools in Cambuslang are being invited to apply for funding for projects which boost the local environment.

The Greening Cambuslang: changing neighbourhoods for the better initiative has £12,000 to share with people and organisations keen to make a positive impact on the environment in their area.

A Cambuslang Community Council initiative, the project aims to see community gardens, public art and street furniture installed in neighbourhoods across the community council area.

Applications are now being sought from groups which are working to make a positive and visible difference to the greenspace or public space in their neighbourhood.

For more information and an application form email GreenCambus or call Jan on 0141-646-0123.

Cambuslang Community Council was awarded £59,000 by the Scottish Government to implement the Greening Cambuslang initiative. The programme follows the Greening the Main Street project which saw planters, hanging baskets and flower beds introduced on the busy thoroughfare.
