The organisers of Cambuslang Summerfest held their annual festive raffle last month.
The draw, which took place at Cambuslang’s Morrisons store, had a great response from the community.
Rutherglen and Hamilton West MP Margaret Ferrier, Rutherglen MSP Clare Haughey and Cambuslang East councillor Walter Brogan were joined by St Cadoc’s pupil Charlie Thompson to make the draw.
The top prize winners were: Chloe Coates, who won £100 of Morrisons vouchers, Mrs Jamieson received £50 worth of store vouchers and Liz Jamieson, who won a bottle of malt whisky. Several other prizes were claimed on the day.
The raffle raised £520 for Summerfest funds and £372 was added through bag packing in the supermarket.
Summerfest chairman John Edgar thanked everyone who bought tickets.
He added:“We also had a kind-hearted couple, who wish to remain anonymous, who delivered around £50 worth of bags of messages for pensioners who may not have had much this Christmas.
“The other two bags were received by a single mum and another was sent to the Eva Burrows care unit.”
Mr Edgar also thanked Joe Nelson and his family and Tracy O’Donnell from the local housing association for her help.
