That’s entertainment for Lanarkshire in 2017

Rutherglen Reformer - - The Ticket - Jonathan Geddes

2017 might have only just arrived, but there is already a packed programme in the diary for the various venues throughout Lanarkshire.

Here’s some of the very best shows that are lined up. Local lads the Trend return to East Kilbride for the first time in a few years, after releasing EP Something To Shout About and playing shows at the likes of King Tut’s and the Barrowland. The East Kilbride band should appeal to fans of the likes of Oasis and the Stone Roses.

Taggart star Alex Norton has been a familiar face on Scottish stage and screen for six decades. In this show he’ll reflect on everything from working with Billy Connolly, Dudley Moore and Clint Eastwood to appearing in Gregory’s Girl and, of course, his stint in Taggart.

Castlemilk actress Leah brings her new show to Lanarkshire, fresh from performing it at the Edinburgh Fringe last year. The River City and Gary: Tank Commander star will go from some absolutely hilarious stories to belting comedy songs and back again.

Strictly Come Dancing star Giovanni promises to take fans on a “journey of life, through dance” in this show, which will feature two professional singers and four dancers. Fresh from dancing with Laura Whitmore in last year’s show, the Italian star’s show offers a classy narrative as well as some fantastic dancing.

Acting Up Alex Norton will be in Lanarkshire in 2017
