Trio fac­ing trial

Three men will stand trial next month charged with sur­round­ing two women in a ve­hi­cle, bang­ing on the wind­screen and at­tempt­ing to open the car doors.

The ladies, com­mu­nity war­dens, were in their ve­hi­cle on Western Av­enue on May 24, 2016 when Craig McMil­lan, 20, Paul McLaugh­lin, 20, and a 17 year old - who can­not be named for le­gal rea­sons - are said to have ap­proached.

The trio are ac­cused of shout­ing, swear­ing and ges­tic­u­lat­ing to­wards the women and record­ing them on a mo­bile phone.

They are said to have sur­rounded the ve­hi­cle, stop­ping the women from driv­ing it along the road, re­peat­edly strik­ing the wind­screen and at­tempt­ing to open the doors of the car.

McMil­lan, of McCal­lum Av­enue, McLaugh­lin, o f Ac r e d y k e R o a d , and the teenager, of To­ry­glen Road, pleaded not guilty to the charge when they ap­peared at Glas­gow Sher­iff Court on Jan­uary 11.

They will all stand trial on Fe­bru­ary 7.

McMil­lan will be tried for a fur­ther charge of be­hav­ing in a threat­en­ing man­ner in an­other in­ci­dent on June 20, 2016 at To­ry­glen Road.

He is ac­cused of com­mit­ting the of­fence hav­ing been granted bail on June 6, 2016.
