Sauce maker’s fall in profit
A company that makes brown sauce for chip shops at its Cambuslang factory has reported a fall in profits.
Walter Black Foods manufactures a range of sauces, pickles and condiments for the takeaway industry and its Gold Star brown sauce, produced at its premises on Drumhead Road, is used in hundreds of chip shops across Scotland.
Turnover fell 2.2 per cent to £8.73 million in the 12 months to March, with pre-tax profits falling more than 5 per cent to £308,814.
The directors blamed a loss of some contracts.
