Cambus ready for league title decider
Cambuslang Rugby Club will do battle against Stewartry this weekend in a bid to claim the BT West Division 2 championship.
The Cambus welcome the Dumfries and Galloway side to Coats Park in what coach Jamie Seery is branding a title decider.
His team currently top the division on 61 points with two games to play- ahead of Saturday’s challengers on 59.
Stewartry cruised to a 51-12 win over Waysiders Drumpellier, while The Cambus had a free week, which sets up an exciting match of rugby this weekend.
Cambuslang are on the verge of bouncing back from last season’s relegation disappointment but Seery knows his men won’t be complacent.
He said:“If we get promoted I think they would have deserved it. They’ve been outstanding in the past four matches.”
Both sides have stayed well clear of the chasing pack all season and it’s no surprise that the nearest team to them is 20 points behind.
Cambuslang have been training all week and have a further session tomorrow, Thursday, to gear up for the contest.
Seery added:“I’m feeling confident. There’s not a lot between the two teams but we both have different styles of play.”
League decider Cambus lost 32-30 when the last played Stewartry
