Harvey says Glens will not freeze
Rutherglen Glencairn gaffer Willie Harvey says his side will step up to the plate this weekend as they face the league leaders at home.
Keith Hogg and his Kilsyth Rangers squad will visit The Celsius Stadium with hopes of extending the gap at the top of the Super First Division.
The January frost wiped out a lot of Junior football matches around the country on Saturday, including The Glens’ game with Blantyre Victoria.
But boss Harvey is confident his players won’t freeze when the table-toppers come to town as his team regularly put in a good performance when they are up against the odds.
“I’m looking forward to it,” he said. “We enjoy playing teams at the top of the league because it brings the best out of us.
“You just need to look at the last time we played them. We drew 2-2 but we should have taken all three points.
“We led for most of the game but they equalised in the last five minutes to get a point.
“I’m quite confident about it. But Kilsyth’s team hasn’t changed all that much since last season. That obviously helps and you can iron things out from the last season.”
