Sen­tence de­ferred on car thieves

Sen­tence has been de­ferred on two Ruther­glen women who stole from cars across a num­ber of days in Fe­bru­ary last year.

Jade Bruen and Donna Reid, both of Kirk­con­nel Drive, pleaded guilty to three charges of theft be­tween them when they ap­peared at Glas­gow Sher­iff Court on Jan­uary 11.

Bruen, 26, ad­mit­ted steal­ing clothes, a first aid kit and park­ing per­mit from an un­locked car in Castlemilk on Fe­bru­ary 6, 2016.

Reid, mean­while, stole cloth­ing, footwear, tools and toys on Fe­bru­ary 9, 2016 when she found the goods and made no ef­fort to trace the owner.

The 32-year-old also ad­mit­ted to steal­ing a car stereo and toys from an un­locked car on Glen­croft Road on Fe­bru­ary 10.

Both women will be sen­tenced on Fe­bru­ary 7.
