Grants for groups

Nine community groups in Ruther­glen and Cam­bus­lang will re­ceive a grant from the lo­cal area com­mit­tee.

South Lana r k s h i re coun­cil­lors have agreed to £4822 worth of grants, leav­ing a bal­ance of £19,963 which must be spent by the end of the fi­nan­cial year.

Groups who hav e ben­e­fit­ted are: Cam­bus­lang and District Vol­un­tary Care Club, £ 400 for spe­cial­ist trans­port and en­trance fees.

St Bride’s Af­ter­noon Club, Cam­bus­lang, £ 322 for an out­ing, ma­te­ri­als and equip­ment.

Fern­hill Se­nior Ci­ti­zens’, Ruther­glen, £ 400 for an out­ing and ma­te­ri­als.

Switch On - Ruther­glen Old Par­ish Church Youth Group, £300 for equip­ment.

Re­source­ful Ram­blers, Ruther­glen, £ 1000 for spe­cial­ist trans­port.

Flem­ing­ton/ Hall­side Guild, Cam­bus­lang, £ 750 for an out­ing, ad­min and pub­lic­ity costs and equip­ment.

Cam­bus­lang Ul­ster Scots So­ci­ety, £200 for an out­ing.

Ac­tions, Ruther­glen, £850 for equip­ment.

The coun­cil op­er­ates a community grants scheme to sup­port lo­cal con­sti­tuted community groups and vol­un­tary or­gan­i­sa­tions.

Ap­pli­ca­tions are in­vited through­out the year.
