A Castlemilk nurs­ery has been praised by the Care In­spec­torate af­ter a re­cent in­spec­tion.

Castlemilk Day Nurs­ery was graded ‘ good’ by in­spec­tors in terms of qual­ity of care and sup­port and qual­ity of en­vi­ron­ment.

The unan­nounced in­spec­tion took place on Novem­ber 29 but the re­sults were only made pub­lic this month.

The ma­jor­ity of par­ents said they were over­all happy with the qual­ity of care their child re­ceived in the ser­vice.

Com­ments in­cluded: “All staff from the day nurs­ery are more than friendly and wel­com­ing. I am more than con­fi­dent that my daugh­ter is be­ing looked af­ter well.

“Af­ter one year of us­ing this ser­vice my daugh­ter’s devel­op­ment is com­ing along amaz­ing and her con­fi­dence and re­la­tion­ships with the staff is amaz­ing.”

The in­spec­tors made five rec­om­men­da­tions to the nurs­ery man­age­ment.

These in­cluded en­sur­ing ap­pro­pri­ate re­sources and safe sleep­ing prac­tices are car­ried out and mon­i­tored and chil­dren’s med­i­ca­tion is ad­min­is­tered and stored in line with cur­rent best prac­tice guid­ance.

The nurs­ery had pre­vi­ously been ex­pected in March 2015 when it was graded ‘good’ in four cat­e­gories.
