Rutherglen MSP, Clare Haughey, is encouraging local groups to apply for the latest funding round for funds raised by players of the People’s Postcode Lottery.

The funding is being allocated through three trusts, which support different categories of projects.

There will be two opportunities for groups to apply in 2017, January and August, and £3 million will be available for each funding round.

The People’s Postcode Trust seeks applications for projects that focus on the prevention of poverty, promotion of human rights, equal rights and conflict resolution for some of society’s most vulnerable groups.

The application process is simple. The first round is open until February 10.

Ms Haughey said: “This is an excellent opportunity to access People’s Postcode Lottery Funding for a range of worthwhile community projects. I would encourage not only local charities, but also social enterprises and other community groups to consider applying.”
