Westburn residents are being asked if they would like a pharmacy to open in their community.
Yaseen Yousaf has applied to NHS Lanarkshire to open a new pharmacy, offering a full range of NHS pharmaceutical services, at 130 Westburn Road, Cambuslang.
The proposed opening hours are 9am to 6pm Monday to Friday; 9am to 5pm on Saturday and 10am till 2pm on Sundays.
Before a formal application can be made, regulations require that NHS Lanarkshire and Mr Yousaf carry out a joint consultation to seek the views of local people and gauge the level of support for the proposal.
NHS Lanarkshire primary care services administration manager, Gillian Forsyth, said: “This is only a proposal, however, we want to gauge how people feel about it and the survey will help us capture this.
“For example, people will be able to record whether they feel they already have adequate access to pharmacy services in the area or whether they feel there are gaps or deficiencies in services to the neighbourhood.”
All views submitted to the survey will be included in a report which will be taken into account by NHS Lanarkshire’s pharmacy practices committee which will determine Mr Yousaf’s application.
