Author and Badger pop in to visit pupils

Rutherglen Reformer - - School News -

Burnside Primary pupils got to hear a real shaggy dog story recently.

The school was visited by author Laura Jackson, who writes the Badger the Mystical Mutt series of books.

And Badger himself popped by too!

The visit featured the writer explaining where she gets her ideas from, while also recreating some of Badger’s many adventures.

There are currently eight books in the series, which focus around a magical dog and his escapades.

The stories deal with issues such as bullying, disability and prejudice, while the overriding theme of all Badger books is about encouraging children to follow their dreams, ambition and to have self-belief.

Pictured are Laura and Badger with pupils Louis Robertson, Daisy Burns, Melissa Mennie, Joshua Mitchell, Amelia McNeil and Rory Mitchell.
