Pupil am­bas­sadors

A group of S4-S6 pupils at Cathkin High have been cho­sen as am­bas­sadors to rep­re­sent the World of Work web­site.

S5 pupils Chelsea Keir, Jamie Ram­sey, Chloe Mills, David Car­ruthers and S4 pupils Euan Kennedy, Gary Orr, Laura Ford, Lucy Gar­diner and Emily Tul­lett be­came World of Work am­bas­sadors.

The role will in­volve pro­mot­ing the pos­i­tive ethos of skills, ca­reer path­ways and ap­pren­tice­ships for younger pupils at Cathkin and its feeder pri­maries.

The group have com­pleted two as­sem­blies to the lower school and vis­ited Cathkin Pri­mary school and made up a les­son based on the world of work.

One group ex­plored a quiz on the web­site and the other com­pleted a work­sheet out­lin­ing the skills needed for cer­tain jobs.

They said the feed­back from the pri­mary school was “fan­tas­tic” and they have been in­vited back

Their co­or­di­na­tor Ms MacBain said: “I’m cer­tain that the in­for­ma­tion re­ceived as well as the con­fi­dence that has been built in speak­ing in front of peers or ed­u­cat­ing the young pupils in pri­maries will aid th­ese hard-work­ing pupils greatly in fu­ture pos­i­tive des­ti­na­tions.”
