St Bride’s Pri­mary pupils got to make the right moves 10 years ago.

The school’s chess club had held a chess-a-thon to raise money for the Scot­tish Catholic In­ter­na­tional Aid Fund, with each pupil pay­ing 20p a game to take part.

Chess had proved in­creas­ingly pop­u­lar at the school, with the club meet­ing twice a week to cope with de­mand.
