Watt an event down at theWest!
Rutherglen West and Wardlawhill Church are to hold a charity evening next week to help a good cause.
By popular request, Watt Nicol will once again be hosting a Brushstrokes and Ballads Evening at the West, with all proceeds going to Beatson Cancer Care.
It will take place on Friday, April 21.
Watt loves nothing better than playing to an audience of ‘wrinklies’ and the young ‘uns, so come along on the night to listen to his stories and folk songs while raising funds for Beatson.
He will be accompanied by some of his Scottish folk singer friends, and there will be audience participation too, with audiences accompanying the group’s rendition of ‘the Glesga Cat’ and acting out Watt’s ‘Sweet Chariot’.
The brushstrokes will be provided by the Rutherglen Art Class, who will be displaying their artwork in the Baker Hall, with some paintings for sale, with a commission to the charity.
For an evening of stories, ballads, the arts and a real old singa-long, come along to the venue at 3 Western Avenue.
Tickets are priced at £5 which includes refreshments and nibbles.
They can be purchased at the door on the evening of the show.
