Free help for those hard of hear­ing

Ac­tion on Hear­ing Loss Scot­land is launch­ing two new free monthly dropin ses­sions to sup­port NHS hear­ing aid users in Ruther­glen and Cam­bus­lang.

The monthly Hear to Help ses­sions will start in the Ruther­glen and Cam­bus­lang Hous­ing As­so­ciat i o n Of­fice, 16 Farmeloan Road, Ruther­glen, on Fri­day, April 21, be­tween 2- 4pm and Cam­bus­lang Li­brary, 27 Main Street, on Fri­day, May 12, be­tween 10.30am-12.30pm.

Vol­un­teers who have been trained by NHS au­di­ol­ogy will of­fer ba­sic main­te­nance to help peo­ple get the most out of their hear­ing aid so that they can fol­low con­ver­sa­tions with fam­ily, friends and col­leagues more clearly.

Co­or­di­na­tor Lainey McFar­lane said: “Get­ting used to a hear­ing aid can be dif­fi­cult and takes time.

“Sup­port f rom our vol­un­teers can make the world of dif­fer­ence in help­ing peo­ple un­der­stand how to use and look af­ter their hear­ing aids.
